Marriage & Partners Visa
Individuals with a British partner can go to the UK and live together for up to 30 months under the UK Spouse Visa. To obtain a UK Spouse Visa, you must be married to, or in a civil partnership with, a British Citizen or someone who has established a permanent residence in the UK. The UK Spouse Visa is also known as the UK Partner Visa, allowing people to live within the UK with their partner. For many people, obtaining a UK Spouse Visa is the first step in obtaining indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom.

How to apply for the Spouse Visa?
A UK Spouse Visa applicant must be married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen. Applicants in a union with a UK resident may also be eligible. Applicants from outside the United Kingdom will be required to submit their applications online. A marriage certificate or call logs will be required to support your application for a UK Spouse Visa. It may take up to 12 weeks to learn whether your UK Spouse Visa has been approved after you've applied. The process can take up to 8 weeks for people applying from within the United Kingdom.
Requirements
The main requirement is that applicants must demonstrate that their relationship is real and that they are financially capable of supporting themselves in the UK. After the initial 30 months, the UK Spouse Visa can be renewed for another 30 months. Individuals can apply for indefinite permission to remain after living in the UK for five years.
