Tier 3 Work Visa

The UK Skilled Worker Visa has replaced the Tier 2 Visa in the UK, allowing firms to continue to hire foreign workers for suitable positions inside their company. If you're a UK employer who recruits foreign workers or an employee who has a job offer from a company that will sponsor you, you'll want to be aware of the new guidance on worker sponsorship.

Expectations

The responsibilities of firms sponsoring skilled workers have been expanded in comparison to the prior standards for sponsors of Tier 2 workers. Most crucially, sponsors will now be required to provide the Home Office with more frequent updates to, such as when a worker's job is terminated, their compensation is changed, or their role's responsibilities alter. Employers must also keep track of their documentation, and so there’s a lot of risk on the employer’s side too. This promotes fairness for the applicant if they do happen to receive a sponsor. Employing and sponsoring foreign workers, since new guidelines suggest that sponsors who do not do so risk having their sponsorship licence withdrawn.

Application Process

The application process takes place online, and it differs significantly based on your circumstances. To find out more contact us via email immigration@bfservices.co.uk. You have up to three months to apply for a visa before you start working in the UK. This date is printed on your sponsorship certificate. You'll need to verify your identity and provide your documents as part of your application. If you need to make an appointment, you may need to allow extra time. When you start your application, you'll find out if you need one.

How long does it last?

Once you’ve applied online, proved your identity, and provided your documents, you’ll usually get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks, if you’re outside the UK and 8 weeks, if you’re inside the UK. If you need to go to an appointment, you may be able to pay for a faster decision. How you do this depends on whether you’re outside the UK or inside the UK.
